Climbing Courses

Our advanced course will teach you everything you need to know to become a

stronger climber, safely set up and manage top rope climbs, and safely identify and manage

hazards. As with all of our courses, each course is custom tailored to the skills, abilities and

goals of the participants of every group.

All equipment is provided including harness, helmet, climbing shoes, and belay equipment. Climbers are welcome and encouraged to bring their own equipment if it is in good condition, but it is not required.
Your guide will inspect all equipment before your trip.

This course will cover:
  • A review of knots, belaying, and basic technique.
  • In depth look at different types of climbs and terrain
  • Advanced technique and movement
  • How to set up a "bomb proof" top-rope anchor
  • How to identify and manage hazards

Some climbing experience is required before taking this course
For those new to rock climbing we recommend our beginner or intermediate courses!

Our priority at First Ascent is to teach our clients how to climb SAFELY! Not only will this course teach you the skills listed on the left, it will leave you with the knowledge necessary to make constructive and safe decisions for the extent of your rock climbing career.

For those with only a little climbing experience who would like a more in depth outdoor climbing course, this class can be combined with our Intermediate Course over a 2-day period.

Course can be scheduled 7 days a week, year round. Advanced half day courses are 4 hours long and will spend a large portion of time on the ground learning and practicing anchors. Full day courses are 6 hours long and are a perfect balance of climbing and on the ground learning.
